Partigirls on the Prowl: What Happened at Partimnstr?
Wandering through the alleys of downtown Los Angeles always bodes well for me and my friends. We were especially excited to go to Partimnstr after a long week of work.
We donned our best furs and scales, embracing our fursonas, and took enough selfies to fill hundreds of magazines. After pregaming for a couple hours, we made our way just before 11 p.m. Our Ubers dropped us off on a random street, and we followed posters with arrows and the sounds of music to the venue.
Walking in, we were greeted by friends running the entrance. After what felt like an endless stream of compliments, we made our way to the bar. The bartenders were friendly and generous with their pours. I could have gotten 6 vodka cranberries, but the night didn’t need an overly intoxicated nonbinary to make it about themselves.
Making my way to the dance floor, I appreciated the room to dance and move through the crowd. The music was electric, not just in genre, but the vibe that filled the room. Watching people enjoy themselves and each set was a treat in itself. The music carried so much that one of the speakers blew out from the noise. When we needed a break to collect ourselves, we could go to the next door garage and catch our breaths. This was a great way to chit-chat and cool down since dancing was working up quite the sweat.
My favorite part was socializing, getting to see people I don’t have the opportunity to hang out with as often. The night even included a “live Parti animal feeding” where one of our peers tore up a meal to engage the crowd.
I had been looking up to the event for quite awhile, and it lived up to expectations and then some. The future looks bright for Partimnstr.
